About Eric:
As someone who has been buying and selling property since 1998, Eric knows firsthand the feelings of excitement and concern that can accompany any real estate transaction. With his legal knowledge and his insider's perspective on buying, selling and protecting property, Eric can help you feel confident and secure in every real estate transaction.
When Eric first began studying law at New York Law School it was with the intention of becoming an Environmental Lawyer; however, during this time Eric also became interested in real estate investing. He began investing in real estate in 1998; buying and selling single family homes and eventually moving up to investing in apartment buildings; becoming an expert in arranging, negotiating and closing complicated real estate transactions along the way.
Upon graduating from Law School Eric became a member of The Blackstone Group, helping to build their legal department during his time there. After 6 years at The Blackstone Group, Eric saw an opportunity to combine his technical and legal training with his skill in buying and selling properties; in 2005 Eric opened his own law firm, serving as a legal advisory service to real estate brokers and investors. Since that time Eric has used his experience as a buyer and seller, as well as his technical skills in executing agreements and structuring transactions to build a law firm that caters to entrepreneurs, business owners, and independent investors.
Today, The Law Office of Eric Habib offers a complete range of legal services to buyers and sellers of real estate in the New York metro area, including Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, and the five boroughs of New York City. Clients include landlords, builders, real estate investors, brokers, first-time homebuyers, and sellers.
